WISCONSIN SOCIETY OF CERTIFIED ACUPUNCTURISTS, INC.
The Wisconsin Society of Certified Acupuncturists, Inc., or WISCA, Inc., is a non-profit trade organization of state-certified, state resident acupuncturists who are nationally board certified. Our mission is to promote understanding and awareness of acupuncture and allied fields of oriental medicine through public education and outreach. We seek to provide information to Wisconsin state residents on the validity, safety, legitimacy and standards of practice and training. Due to the variety of styles of acupuncture and alternative medicine, we seek to ensure that all practitioners meet uniformly high standards of training and skill. With accurate and balance information, our state citizens can distinguish between valid and exaggerated claims and decide how, when and where to choose this style of alternative health care.
Interest in alternative medicine is growing. We seek to ensure the safety and well being of Wisconsin citizens who choose to avail themselves of these complimentary health care modalities. Our aim is for all practitioners who offer acupuncture to uniformly meet the same high standards of education and training, as required by the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing of all certified acupuncturists. We seek to ensure that all practitioners, regardless of their licensing, are practicing within the scope of their training, not just within the scope of their license. We strive for clearer legal specifications of high training and skill, in acupuncture, associated healing arts in oriental medicine, and associated complementary medical practices such as herbs, moxabustion, homeopathy, etc.
WISCA offers a vast network of information from a wide variety of experienced, dedicated practitioners who can provide this information to the public, media and legislators.
